Carl’s Doomsday Scenario
Carl’s Doomsday Scenario is an imminent explosion trapped inside a protective case in his inventory. Removing it would allow the interrupted detonation to continue.[1]

Containment rather than disarming
Carl does not make the original explosion harmless. He finds a way to turn a developing catastrophe into an inventory item before it finishes detonating. The resulting description explicitly says the object is unstable and cannot be stabilized further.
This makes possession very different from control. Carl can keep the item put away, but retrieving it also retrieves the emergency that created it. The available account does not establish a comfortable deployment interval or a safe way to hold it while choosing a target. Calling it a bomb should not suggest that it behaves like one of his ordinary crafted charges with a freely adjustable timer.[1]

Why the case matters
The Sheol Glass Reaper Case supplies the physical containment that makes the maneuver possible. Carl initially cannot inventory the active assembly. After the first burst occurs inside the case, the new contained object can be stored as Carl’s Doomsday Scenario.
The case is extremely resistant, not an invitation to handle the contents casually. Carl burns his hand during the retrieval and has to heal it. Nor does storing this one explosion neutralize Remex. The encounter still has a separate, escalating magical detonation to survive.[2]

What a simulation can establish
The Advanced Bomber’s Studio lets Carl test an existing explosive against simulated targets without consuming the real object. The Doomsday Scenario overwhelms that test with a whiteout rather than returning a useful, easily inspected picture of the damage.
The failed observation confirms the difficulty of experimenting with it, not a precise yield. It does not demonstrate that the real item can be used safely at a particular distance, or that a target outside the simulation would survive. The original remains available because the studio test is virtual.[3]

History
Book 2
Carl’s Doomsday Scenario
Capturing the first burst
During the Remex crisis, Carl reuses the case that held the Kimaris figure. Light is feeding the reaction, and he waits until the burst can be enclosed and stored. He grabs the case at the last possible moment and puts it into inventory.
The system names the newly created object Carl’s Doomsday Scenario. Carl has contained one immediate threat, but Remex is still heading toward the later explosion.[2]

Book 3
The Dungeon Anarchist’s Cookbook
Rarity does not measure danger
An appraisal rates it Pretty Damn Rare but gives it a surprisingly low price. The valuation says little about its destructive power: something so unstable and difficult to use can be dangerous without being valuable to a buyer.[4]

Book 5
The Butcher’s Masquerade
Testing without spending the original
Carl tests it in the Advanced Bomber’s Studio. The simulation whites out, limiting what he can learn. The real Doomsday Scenario stays untouched in his inventory.[3]

Book 8
A Parade of Horribles
Still retained after the ninth floor
Carl still has it after the large inventory drop following the ninth floor. Nothing in its continued presence suggests that it has become stable or safe to handle.[5]
