Book 4
The Gate of the Feral Gods
When the castle’s glass transformation ends, the head can no longer stay in inventory. It is expelled as a latex doll head, begins speaking and appears as a white map dot. Its description identifies it as a Lika Love Doll Head possessed by the Withering Spirit of Psamathe, better known as Samantha.
Samantha says she escaped the Nothing into what she thought was Lika’s vessel, only to discover that its head had been separated from the body. Carl adjusts the movable jaw so he can understand her. The strange piece of salvage becomes a demanding, threatening and increasingly important traveling companion.[2]
