Combination spell · Introduced in Book 7
War Crime
War Crime combines spells into a new effect. It starts at level five and gains five levels each time it is cast. It can be used at most three times across the eligible Scolopendra floors.[1]

Cost and restrictions
The spell costs one mana and requires component abilities of at least level eight. The first cast joins two spells, with more allowed in later casts. It drives the caster’s health toward one percent and prevents separate use of the component spells for the rest of the floor.
War Crime cannot directly kill its targets, however badly it injures them. Other attacks can still kill them, and the spell does not spare them pain.[1]

History
Book 7
This Inevitable Ruin
Donut’s first cast combines enemy summoning with Astral Paw rather than the planned fire effect. The enormous paw lifts the targets into Li Na’s dense lattice of chains. Donut moves them through it repeatedly. War Crime keeps them alive within its own effect, but the separate chains kill them.[2]
