The Wandering Inn has finally reached physical bookstores, but its first print rollout works differently from the existing ebook and audiobook series.

Harper Voyager is publishing the opening two books as four large paperbacks. The schedule started in North America on August 11, 2026. It will continue through November, with separate release dates for the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Europe.

Here is the complete physical release schedule announced so far.

The first paperback, The Wandering Inn, is already available in the United States and Canada. Harper Voyager released it on August 11.

North American readers will receive the second paperback, No Killing Goblins, on September 22. Both halves of Book One will arrive in the UK and Europe on September 24.

Book Two follows a similar schedule later in the fall. Fae and Fare arrives in North America on October 20. Immortal Games follows on November 10.

The UK and European schedule handles those releases differently. Both halves of Book Two will arrive there on November 5.

The dates come from The Wandering Inn’s official release FAQ and its individual bookstore listings.

Why Are the First Two Books Split Into Four Paperbacks?

The new paperback numbering may confuse longtime readers. Four physical books do not cover the first four existing ebooks or audiobooks.

Instead, Harper Voyager divided each of the first two books into two parts:

  • The Wandering Inn and No Killing Goblins contain Book One.
  • Fae and Fare and Immortal Games contain Book Two.

The publisher chose this format because the original books contain too many pages for practical paperback editions. Printing each one as a single volume would produce an unusually large and heavy book.

Pirateaba also edited the story to improve its flow across the four new releases. The team made additional formatting changes for print and ebook readers.

The author recently said older material receives another review before it reaches print. That process may include a full rewrite or smaller updates for lore consistency. Our breakdown of Pirateaba’s recent AMA includes more about those revisions and the future of the series.

Will the Rest of The Wandering Inn Get Physical Editions?

Harper Voyager and pirateaba have not announced physical dates beyond Immortal Games. That means Flowers of Esthelm and the remaining books do not have confirmed print dates yet.

The official FAQ describes the retail debut as a pivotal moment for the series. It also encourages readers to preorder the books and request them through bookstores and libraries.

That language suggests future physical releases will depend heavily on demand for the first four paperbacks. However, neither the publisher nor pirateaba has announced a specific sales target.
