Ryan Cahill’s next The Bound and the Broken novella, The Truth, is currently listed for September 29, 2026. Meanwhile, The Exile is getting a new hardcover edition on March 2, 2027, as The Broken Binding Publishing continues reissuing the series.
With new stories and new editions arriving alongside each other, the announcements can be easy to mix up. The Truth is Cahill’s new upcoming novella. And March’s The Exile release brings another existing companion story to readers in a new edition.
What Is The Truth About?
The Truth is the fourth and final novella in the series. His official reading guide places it after Of Empires and Dust, the fourth main novel. Here is the official description of the book:
The world changed the night The Order fell. The very foundations of Epheria twisted and cracked. Tales of that night have been weaved across the length and breadth of the continent – whispered at campfires, recounted to children at night, regaled before crowds of thousands. Every silver-tipped tongue tells a different story; every bard spins their own web.
But what is the truth? Every soul in Epheria knows The Order fell, but why did it fall?
The truth is a fickle thing. It shifts and changes, blurs and fades. It is in the eye of the beholder, in the heart of the fighter. Each soul is shaped and moulded by its own unique experiences in life. One truth, the things a person sees and hears, is not the truth of another.
No two truths are the same. Within the stories that are sung, there is only one certainty:
The Truth will set you free – or it will break you.
The current listed release date for The Truth is September 29, 2026.
The Exile’s New Hardcover Arrives in March
The Broken Binding Publishing’s new hardcover edition of The Exile is listed for March 2, 2027.
This is a new edition of the existing novella, positioned as Book 2.5 in The Bound and the Broken. For readers collecting the publisher’s new releases, it brings another piece of Epheria’s history into that collection.
