A new Portuguese-language blurb for A Court of Splintered Harmony links a visitor from another world to growing divisions within the Night Court’s Inner Circle.
The description appeared in promotional images for the Brazilian edition of Sarah J. Maas’s sixth ACOTAR book. ACOTAR Brasil reported the discovery on September 3, alongside Galera Record’s reveal of a dust jacket designed to match the series’ older Brazilian covers.
Readers quickly connected the passage to Bryce Quinlan and the events of House of Flame and Shadow. The wording suggests the fallout from that crossover could carry into the next ACOTAR novel, though it stops short of naming the visitor.

The Portuguese wording reproduced by ACOTAR Brasil is “uma visitante de outro mundo,” meaning “a female visitor from another world.” Some English translations circulating among fans use “guest,” which leaves out that detail.
Although readers may encounter the passage described as a Portuguese leak, it comes from promotional images for the Brazilian edition. There is no indication in the reporting that chapters or a manuscript were released, or that the description appeared by accident.
Why Readers Are Looking at Bryce and Nesta
Bryce’s arrival in Prythian brought the ACOTAR characters directly into the events of House of Flame and Shadow. The new blurb has readers wondering how much of that encounter, and its consequences, will shape A Court of Splintered Harmony.
In the r/acotar discussion of the Brazilian description, commenters singled out Nesta’s decision to give Bryce the Mask as a possible source of the tension. Others raised questions about the Prison and whether Nesta’s relationship with the rest of the Night Court will change.
The description leaves the timing open. It could be referring to the consequences of Bryce’s previous visit, rather than announcing another trip to Prythian. Some readers also think Maas could revisit parts of House of Flame and Shadow from the ACOTAR characters’ perspectives.
That would give readers a chance to see conversations and disagreements Bryce wasn’t present for. But it remains a fan theory; the blurb does not reveal where the new novel begins or whose viewpoints it follows.

The publisher describes them as reeling from “recent betrayals and revealed truths.” They will have to repair those relationships and restore old alliances to face the growing threat.
Portugal’s publisher, Grupo Editorial Presença, carries a synopsis covering the same events. The Brazilian promotional passage goes a little further by connecting the Inner Circle’s troubles to the visitor from another world.
For readers waiting to see how the crossover affects ACOTAR, that connection is the most substantial detail in the new wording. It suggests the consequences of the visit reach beyond the characters who dealt directly with Bryce.
The passage has also prompted speculation about Bryce and Azriel and the series’ other romantic pairings, but it offers no answers on that front. Neither the visitor’s identity nor a central romance is announced.
