Enchanted War Gauntlet of the Exalted Grull
The Enchanted War Gauntlet of the Exalted Grull transforms around Carl’s right hand. It gives him a spiked striking surface while preserving his unarmed-combat benefits. Its divine connection also makes punching certain enemies dangerous.[1]

An armored fist that still counts as unarmed
The bracer becomes a spiked gauntlet when Carl holds the appropriate hand position for more than two seconds. Its chief advantage is compatibility: he can hit with a weapon-like surface without forfeiting the bare-knuckle and unarmed benefits on which his build depends.
The initial bonuses are three Strength while in fist mode, one Dexterity, two levels of Iron Punch and one level of Powerful Strike. A successful hit also has a two-percent chance to stun. The conditional Strength bonus should not be read as a permanent increase that applies regardless of the gauntlet’s state.[1]

The worshipper clause
Its description includes a 1.5-percent chance of transforming a worshipper of Grull into the deity when struck. That wording turns identification into a practical combat problem. A physically manageable opponent may be a dangerous vessel if it worships the wrong god.
Mordecai associates Grull with equine forms, but that does not make appearance a reliable religious test. Carl cannot assume that every animal-shaped opponent worships Grull, or that an unfamiliar worshipper will announce the fact. Removing the weapon’s chain also does not remove the enchantment.[1]

What the accumulated counter changes
The Gore-Gore encounter shows that repeated qualifying strikes can build a visible summoning chance instead of remaining isolated, forgettable rolls. Once the process starts, Carl has to respond to a countdown and a living vessel, not merely a percentage on an equipment screen.
Later experimentation turns that danger into a possible tactic. A new vessel can summon Grull again and move the god from one confrontation to another. The trick still requires precise timing and suitable targets; neither the god’s strength nor the gauntlet’s lack of a resummoning cooldown makes Grull Carl’s obedient minion.[2]

History
Book 1
Dungeon Crawler Carl
A reward with a delayed payoff
Carl receives it in a Gold Brawler’s Box and adds it to his close-range fighting. Against Ralph, its stun lasts fifteen seconds and gives him an opening. That is one successful activation, not a promise that every punch will stun for fifteen seconds.[3]

Book 2
Carl’s Doomsday Scenario
Odette warns about divine attention
Odette warns Carl about the risks of divine sponsorship and suggests King Rust may be connected to Grull. At this point, she is offering a theory rather than confirming the sponsor’s identity.[4]

Book 3
The Dungeon Anarchist’s Cookbook
Gore-Gore exposes the escalating risk
Repeatedly striking Gore-Gore raises the displayed summoning chance to 10.5 percent and starts a ten-second countdown. Carl kills the vessel before Grull arrives. Afterward, the possibility of hitting another worshipper makes him wary of using the gauntlet around Club Vanquisher.[5]
Moving Grull through a second vessel
Using the Cookbook’s information on divine vessels, Carl prepares a mantaur for a summoning. Grull’s level 250 and the vessel’s level forty give a stated duration of 290 seconds. Carl weakens the mantaur and triggers the summon, but contact with his invulnerable foot pulls him into the Yard too.
While Grull fights the Mimic Rex, Carl prepares a second living vessel. He punches it to trigger another summoning and throws it through the Abyss route, moving Grull away rather than killing him. Carl does not use the Bolt of Ophiotaurus in the escape.[6]

Book 4
The Gate of the Feral Gods
A sharpening-stone upgrade
Carl later applies a Platinum Sharpening Stone. It increases damage by twice his current level as a percentage and raises each existing stat bonus by one. The gauntlet gains one more Strength and one more Dexterity; it does not acquire bonuses to unrelated stats.[7]
