Capture flags
Capture flags turn weakened creatures into G’hee totems on the eighth floor. A starting squad receives twenty flags and has six monster slots to fill.[1]

Capture requirements
The opening rules say a target must be alive and below five percent health. A flag wilts if used on an incorporeal creature. A successful capture makes the creature a minion, but destroying an unwanted totem does not refund the flag. Any empty slots are filled randomly when the capture phase ends.[1]

History
Book 6
The Eye of the Bedlam Bride
Carl uses a flag belonging to Ines’s squad to capture Yago for them; Yago does not count toward his own squad’s six. Later captures show that eligibility is more complicated than the initial rules suggest. Skylar is captured despite being a spirit, and Ines’s squad captures the crawler Paz.[2]
