Drakea’s Enchanted Kerchief of Disorder
Drakea’s Enchanted Kerchief of Disorder helps Carl detect and trigger traps. It also extends his remote control over explosives he has made. The kerchief is named for Drakea, a former Cookbook author known for elaborate traps.[1]

Trap control
The kerchief adds five levels of Detect Traps and grants level-fifteen Tripper once every five hours. Tripper costs no mana and triggers traps across an area that grows with Intelligence, which can put allies in danger. Remote Detonator also works on explosives Carl designed with the Sapper’s Table.[1]

Book 4

Book 5
The Butcher’s Masquerade
Carl hopes Tripper will provide a shortcut through a trap field. Instead, it sets off a noisy chain of traps and angers his allies. He continues using the spell in later plans.[2]

Book 7
This Inevitable Ruin
Carl later learns and trains a separate copy of Tripper so Katia can transfer it to Imani. The temporary level loss from that transfer affects his trained spell, not the level-fifteen version supplied by the kerchief.[3]
