Introduction
Imani C is one of the Meadow Lark caregivers who brings the residents into the dungeon. Carl initially fears the twelve player-killer marks beside her name, then learns that she killed residents who were burning to spare them further suffering. She continues caring for the survivors while facing the dangers of the crawl herself.[1]
Appearance and Personality
Imani is level ten when Carl meets Meadow Lark’s group. Brandon explains the emergency behind her twelve skulls, changing Carl’s impression of her from a threat to someone carrying a terrible responsibility.[1]
When they reunite, she is a level-twenty-four Obsidian Butterfly and Fire Spiritualist. Her ethereal wings can wrap around another person, granting helpful effects along with the embrace.[2]
By the Hunting Grounds, the recap shows her with more solid wings and a skull-like face. She uses her magic to break the glamour driving a town against Katia’s allies.[3]
Imani challenges the way others talk about Katia’s addiction and helps care for her. After her own totem kills her squadmates, guilt leaves her vulnerable to giving up, and Elle refuses to let her face it alone. Imani later insists on curing mercenaries deliberately infected for a plan, still protecting people others are willing to use.[4]

Attributes and Abilities
Her embrace gives Carl Juiced, raising Strength by ten percent; Shrouded, reducing damage by ten percent; and Trolled, improving healing speed by twenty-five percent.
In the Iron Tangle, Imani provides balance and wind support for the suspension and neutralizes acid on returning allies. She saves their lives, though their damaged clothing remains ruined.[5]
She dispels the glamour Eva uses to turn a town against Katia’s coalition. As guildmaster of Safehome Yolanda, she also coordinates the shared spaces and support that keep separate parties connected.[6]
During a squad battle, Imani freezes Randall as he burns. Her deerlike totem then screams, killing all four immobilized allies. The system credits the deaths to her, adding four player-killer marks.[7]
Imani selects personal spaces for the airport and helps establish Posse infrastructure. A transferred Tripper spell clears castle traps. She also protects Donut, carries a wounded soldier to cover at two percent health, and uses Wisp Armor while repeatedly interrupting the psionic attack on Carl.[8]
When Dong worsens despite a healing indicator, Imani recognizes that the apparent treatment is not helping, drawing attention to his missing sock. She later cures Carl’s SlugPox and heals both badly wounded crawlers after the ambush.
Eris’s aura makes Jacobus a permanent summon under Imani’s control, imposing another responsibility she did not choose.[9]
