Protective environmental secretions
The bat vendors’ foul-tasting secretion gives broad protection from environmental hazards when swallowed. It counts as a food buff and uses a separate cooldown from ordinary potions.[1]

Protection and limits
Prepotente gets about thirty minutes of protection from roughly half a potion bottle. Carl later gets an hour from a large gulp. It has to be drunk manually.
It does not stop suffocation inside Scolopendra. Penelope still needs help breathing, and the normal potion cooldown prevents her from taking anti-asphyxiation potions as often as she needs.[2]
