World Dungeon · Floor 15
Floor 15: Sheol
Sheol is Floor Fifteen, an infernal realm whose demons, fire and equipment reach far into the upper dungeon. Carl first learns its connection to the deeper floors through the Sheol Glass Reaper Case. Later encounters reveal rival demonic powers and dangerous routes between Sheol and the rest of the crawl.[1]

Fire, materials and survival
Spider Reaper minions on Floor Fifteen manufacture the Sheol Glass Reaper Case. It protects its contents against most damage, but opening it risks releasing Sheol Fire. Carl uses one during the crisis beneath the Over City’s guard depot.
Little else is known about the Spider Reapers’ workshops or lives on the floor.[1]

Demonic fuel reaches the Iron Tangle
Fire Brandy, a Lesser Demon MILF who works as a train firewoman, explains that Sheol Bricks are made from the remains of her dead offspring. Most of her enormous litters do not survive. The bricks burn unusually hot and long, powering steam trains alongside demonic boiler magic.
These materials make Sheol part of the Iron Tangle’s daily operation, even though the railway lies far above the infernal realm.[2]

Environmental danger and protection
Donut’s Enchanted Nipple Ring of the Superior Fire Demon’s Hand Maiden prevents health loss in Sheol. Carl’s promotion to Emberus’s Devotee protects him from ambient heat and lava-environment damage, but direct contact with fire or lava can still hurt him.
Sheol Fire can strengthen demons. During the Floor Eight escape, Carl’s altered flames help power Amayon’s spell.[3]

Amayon and divine rivalries
Samantha identifies Amayon as her grandmother’s youngest brother and one of four princes. Ysalte, his former girlfriend and the mother of his child, wants him as her Ascendency retainer.
Amayon offers to name the killer of Emberus’s son if the god helps him kill his three brothers. His bargain reveals the rivalry within the family, but does not produce an answer to the murder.[4]

How demons cross between floors
Demon Eviction allows demons to occupy recently fallen or weakened bodies. These shells hold only part of their power. They can grab victims and drag them into Sheol, taking objects touching the victim with them.
Demons need souls to return. Ordinary occupied shells are reported to require one victim, while another encountered demon needs two souls. Their portals close afterward, giving Carl limits he can exploit.
Amayon’s final spell pulls at the whole of Floor Eight. Carl and Donut shelter beneath the cleared stair chambers, then descend to Floor Nine as the structures above them are taken into Sheol.[5]

What the illustration represents
The illustration combines a scorched landscape with demons resembling Forkith and the crab-like manifestations encountered on Floor Eight. It represents these known connections rather than a single scene.
Sheol’s full geography, rulers and routes remain unrevealed. Even the AI struggles to understand what is happening there.[6]

Book 7
This Inevitable Ruin
The Nothing drains into Sheol
Justice Light joins an open portal to the Nothing with traps connected to Twelve and Sheol. The broken realm drains into the Halls of Ascendency, Sheol and Scolopendra’s Lair.[7]

Book 8
A Parade of Horribles
An organized power outside the AI’s clear view
The AI names Sheol’s demons among six awakened groups. It describes them as organized but difficult to observe, and is unsure whether crawlers could bypass the altered realm on their way to the final exit.[8]
Louis arrives on another front
Louis is taken from storage into Sheol, where Chris, Britney and Pontiff are waiting. His gills steam in the heat until Forkith, a small red demon, attaches a protective leech. Crest shoots Chris unconscious before he can finish transforming into a werewolf.
Forkith says the group escaped the first Scolopendra attack by leaving the code in time. They are needed as soldiers here because the Cabaret already has enough defenders. Louis’s malfunctioning menus underline how far they are from the ordinary playing field.
Samantha contacts Louis from a temple where pieces of a divine woman are being assembled. She first calls the woman Taranis’s mother, then corrects herself to his wife. She warns of a dangerous child and talks of killing a demon mother and son, leaving the family’s identity and the reconstruction’s outcome unresolved.[6]
