All five Hunger Games movies are heading back to theaters this September, giving fans a chance to revisit the entire film series before Sunrise on the Reaping arrives later this year.
Lionsgate and Fathom Entertainment are bringing one movie back to theaters each night from September 3 through September 7. Every screening will also include a different theatrical-exclusive sneak peek at The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.
That means fans who attend all five movies will see five separate previews of the upcoming film, rather than the same clip attached to every screening.

- The Hunger Games: Thursday, September 3
- The Hunger Games: Catching Fire: Friday, September 4
- The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1: Saturday, September 5
- The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2: Sunday, September 6
- The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes: Monday, September 7
The event spreads the five movies across five consecutive nights, beginning with Katniss Everdeen’s first trip into the arena and ending with the Coriolanus Snow prequel.
Tickets are already on sale through Fathom Entertainment and participating theater box offices. Locations and showtimes will vary, so fans will need to check availability in their area.
The countdown to Sunrise on the Reaping
The rerelease leads into The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, which opens in theaters on November 20, 2026.
Based on Suzanne Collins’ 2025 novel, the movie takes place 24 years before Katniss volunteers as tribute. It begins on the morning of the reaping for the 50th Hunger Games, better known as the Second Quarter Quell, and follows a young Haymitch Abernathy.
Joseph Zada stars as Haymitch, with Whitney Peak as Lenore Dove Baird and Mckenna Grace as Maysilee Donner. The cast also includes Jesse Plemons, Ralph Fiennes, Glenn Close, Kieran Culkin, Elle Fanning, Maya Hawke and Kelvin Harrison Jr.
Franchise veteran Francis Lawrence is directing from a screenplay by Billy Ray and Michael Lesslie. Lawrence previously directed every Hunger Games movie except the original 2012 film.
