Preserved gnoll left hands work as keys for the Iron Tangle’s mobile portal controls. Two hands must remain pressed against a vehicle’s lock plates for the controls to work.[1]

The rescue team gathers fourteen hands for six carts, enough for every vehicle plus a spare pair. Three carts clear the tracks, and three more follow fifteen minutes later to collect crawlers. The preserved hands let the crews use the portals without keeping living gnolls at the controls.[1]
