The first three books in Matt Dinniman’s Dungeon Crawler Carl series now have complete Audio Immersion Tunnel adaptations from Soundbooth Theater. These productions bring a full cast, original music, sound effects, and additional scenes to Carl and Princess Donut’s journey through the World Dungeon.
There are currently three seasons available with a fourth season in the works. Jeff Hays has pointed to 2027, potentially late in the year, for its release.
What Is the Audio Immersion Tunnel?
Audio Immersion Tunnel, often shortened to AIT, is Soundbooth Theater’s dramatized audio adaptation of Dungeon Crawler Carl. Each season covers one complete novel, divided into episodes.
Jeff Hays, who narrates the original audiobooks, remains central to the production. He still voices Carl, Donut, and the AI, with an expanded cast bringing other characters to life. Original music and sound design accompany the performances, and each episode has its own cover illustration by Dave Law.
The adaptation also includes new material. Dinniman describes extra scenes and bonus content, while contributing writer Ben Wolf has explained that the production involves adapting the books into scripts. Wolf wrote Season 1’s bonus material, apart from a new opening written by Dinniman, and collaborated with James Osiris Baldwin on the second season’s additions. The intention, Wolf explained, is to create the audio experience of a movie or television show.
Which Seasons Are Available?
The first three released seasons are currently available. Together, they comprise 25 episodes adapting the first three novels.

What’s the Schedule for Season 4?
The clearest public release window comes from Hays’s June 25 announcement marking the Season 3 finale.
“For any of you already thinking about Season 4, it’s coming next year!” he wrote, before adding: “Perhaps late next year.” In the same announcement, Hays said the team wanted to raise the production quality again and had substantial preparation ahead.
Hays had also explained earlier in June that he had other projects to finish and that the team wanted to wait until Soundbooth Theater’s new studio was built before beginning production on the next AIT.
Listeners who want to continue the story while waiting can find The Gate of the Feral Gods in its original audiobook edition, narrated by Jeff Hays. That edition is already available and is separate from the upcoming Audio Immersion production.
