Communication item · Introduced in Book 6
The Itty Bitty Little Crawler’s Book of Voodoo
The Itty Bitty Little Crawler’s Book of Voodoo lets its owner exchange written messages with other owners it has registered nearby. The book is bound and cannot be traded, thrown away or destroyed.[1]

Sending and reading messages
Writing on a registered owner’s page changes the matching page in their copy. Erasing text removes it there too. Recipients have to open the book and read; it does not work like a chat notification. A message addressed to oneself is shared with all registered owners. Other private exchanges stay private.[1]

Book 6
The Eye of the Bedlam Bride
Carl tests it with Donut, who prefers ordinary chat. The book later adds entries for Ines and Quan as the encounter brings more owners together.[2]

Book 7
This Inevitable Ruin
Separate entries help Carl identify Turkish captives and victims of the experiments. When faction rules block direct chat, Burcu uses the shared writing to communicate.
Edgar believes the sigils can also help transfer skills. The book later receives shared donated entries alongside the separate books made for Carl and Donut.[3]
