Introduction
Miriam Dom is a human Shepherd and one of the crawl’s leading competitors. She travels with Prepotente, the goat she raised and affectionately calls Pony, supporting him in battle while firmly reining in his temper.[1]
Appearance and Personality
Miriam first appears as a human Shepherd ranked fifth in the Iron Tangle recap. She corrects Prepotente’s behavior, apologizes when he threatens others and comforts him when he is upset. Her use of Pony shows a closeness hidden by his hostility toward strangers.[1]
By the Hunting Grounds she is a vampire, facing blood requirements and deadly sunlight while still caring for her goats. She tells Carl that she returned to her parents’ farm near Parma and came to regard the animals as her children.
Even at the end, Miriam understands the trap better than those hoping to rescue her. She explains why simply freeing Prepotente would kill him and asks her friends to protect the family she will leave behind.[2]

Attributes and Abilities
Miriam incapacitates enemies while Prepotente stacks debuffs. Recap footage shows them using this method against a province boss before Quan steals the killing blow.[3]
Miriam can become a bat or a ball of sunlight, is allergic to garlic and feeds only on beings Prepotente kills. Their blood-based treatment heals Carl’s wounds when ordinary recovery fails, but she must continually manage the curse’s demands and daylight risk.
She can unlearn one spell each night to create a spellbook. She gives Donut Get Out of Jail, a dispel that costs forty mana. Revive and blood potions help her through earlier daylight cycles but cannot keep her alive at the final dawn.[4]
The attempted transfer of her infection to Viscount Fog leaves Prepotente petrified, Fragile and at one hit point. His accidental Ring of Divine Suffering mark on Miriam prevents healing while she lives. Dispelling the paralysis would leave him vulnerable to shattering from the slightest injury.
Miriam is the prime of the recent vampire outbreak. Her death cures living victims infected within the month-long limit and releases Prepotente’s healing restriction. The undead creatures formed from corpse fragments remain dangerous after her death.[5]

History
Book 3
The Dungeon Anarchist’s Cookbook
The Iron Tangle and a competing solution
Miriam and Prepotente hold high rankings through the Iron Tangle. When he confronts Carl over their disrupted boss plan, she restrains him, apologizes to Imani and takes him away to find another target. Odette later confirms that Carl’s group cost them their planned province-boss kill.[6]

Book 4
The Gate of the Feral Gods
Progress, stolen credit and the vampire reports
In later recap footage, Miriam disables a boss while Prepotente applies debuffs, only for Quan to claim the kill. They continue through the Bubbles, with Miriam climbing the rankings.
Reports describe her mermaid transformation and subsequent vampirism, alongside a violent disturbance during Prepotente’s show. The full sequence is initially unclear. Their Desperado membership is revoked after berserk goat-spawn damage and curse the club. Miriam reaches level 52 before leaving the floor.[7]

Book 5
The Butcher’s Masquerade
Rescuing Carl and maintaining contact
Miriam and Prepotente help Carl after the Zockau attack, using their coordinated abilities to treat wounds ordinary healing cannot fix. They keep in contact, travel with caravans and establish a settlement of their own. Later, Miriam stops answering promptly.[8]
The distress call and the reflected cure
She finally reports that she is trapped and cannot survive dawn. An elite encounter had blocked her earlier messages. Viscount Fog is dead, but Prepotente remains petrified with her in his arms, long past the expected duration.
They used Community Pool to try to transfer her infection to Fog. His reflection, Prepotente’s protection and their Opposite Day rings caused the effects to rebound. Prepotente accidentally marked Miriam with Divine Suffering and was left Fragile at one hit point. He cannot heal while she lives or safely move without healing.
Carl and Donut arrive shortly before dawn. Miriam makes the Get Out of Jail spellbook and asks Carl to kill her before Prepotente wakes. He refuses but promises to look after the goats. He also secretly marks her with his own ring. Sunlight kills her as she speaks to her beautiful boy.[9]
What her death changes
The champion notice confirms Miriam’s death. Recently infected crawlers, hunters and dinosaurs, including Li Jun and Big Tina, are cured. Prepotente can heal again, and Donut frees him. Carl gains three Intelligence despite never striking her.
The corpse-fragment minions remain a threat. Miriam’s supplies help the survivors, while Prepotente pursues revenge. He later destroys Floor Seven in her memory, drawing strength from her remembered encouragement.[10]

Book 7
This Inevitable Ruin
Earlier contact and the program behind the tragedy
Milk’s interlude revisits an earlier encounter when Miriam, Prepotente and Bianca reached his isolated guild while fleeing guards. Later information connects the Blood Hunter production implicated in her death to the Blood Sultanate.[11]

Book 8
A Parade of Horribles
The imagined concert pianist
Ad Infinitum’s 130 scenario depicts a possible Miriam who became a concert pianist in New York. Carl helps Prepotente leave by reminding him of the love she had for her actual family. The woman in the room is a simulation of a life she might have lived.[12]

Relationships
Prepotente
Miriam calls Prepotente Pony, disciplines him and comforts him with the familiarity of a parent. She loves him without excusing the way he treats others.[13]
Her herd
Miriam stayed at her parents’ farm near Parma with the animals she considered her children. Ten unaltered goats remain protected in Prepotente’s inventory alongside Bianca during the final encounter. She asks Carl to care for them all.[15]
Carl and Donut
After saving Carl, Miriam calls on him when she and Prepotente are trapped. He and Donut come despite sponsor gifts seemingly intended to turn them against her. Carl promises to protect her family, but secretly marks her with his ring to gain from her death. Donut uses Miriam’s spellbook to free Prepotente afterward.[16]
