Introduction
Lucia Mar is a young crawler who first appears on a dungeon broadcast with her two rottweilers, Cici and Gustavo 3. She quickly becomes one of the crawl’s most famous and feared competitors. Carl initially knows her through edited footage, with little understanding of the child behind the killings.[1]
Appearance and Personality
Carl thinks Lucia looks about thirteen and guesses that she is from South America. He later sees her in silver armor beside her dogs. One early broadcast shows four crawler-kill skulls over her head, though it does not show how she earned them.[2]
Lucia’s Lajabless race alternates between a beautiful form and a monstrous form with a skull-like face and a goat leg. The daily transformation also changes her combat strengths: one form favors magic, the other physical strength.[3]
Lucia can switch suddenly from cruelty to distress. She talks to people no one else can see, hits herself in the head and speaks in different voices. At the masquerade, she appears frightened and withdrawn. Florin later learns that several people, mostly children, seem to be speaking through her body.[4]

Attributes and Abilities
Lucia’s Black Inquisition General class combines Cleric, Mage and Warrior abilities. Her attractive Lajabless form doubles magical effectiveness and halves strength; the monstrous form does the reverse. Reports from the Desperado Club also describe her freezing a large area during a destructive incident.[5]
Lucia protects herself and her dogs with reflected damage during the confrontation with Florin. His attacks injure other people instead, killing Ifechi while Lucia remains unharmed.[6]
Mordecai identifies Lucia’s transport spell as Loop-de-Loop. A trap module outside a safe room can trigger transport from inside because the movement itself does not count as an attack. Lucia uses that loophole to pull people out of places they believe are safe.
Carl and Donut turn the transport trap against her with Clockwork copies and a stuffed-cat decoy. Lucia follows the second copy outside, putting herself in the hunters’ path.
Mordecai identifies Rubber as a protection that reduces incoming damage and reflects part of it onto another target. His explanation comes from watching the fight rather than inspecting Lucia’s full equipment.[7]
A later recap identifies Lucia as a level-sixty Curupira Ranger. She gives the group seven Doggie Door upgrades, which help reunite allies in Cuba. The gift surprises them because she continues making threats and has reportedly been killing other crawlers.[8]
Hell-Kissed Conscription forces Lucia into the Princess Posse under Carl’s orders. He makes her cancel her protections, summon Gustavo and answer truthfully. An escape net she armed earlier still catches Donut later, despite those orders.[9]

History
Book 1
Dungeon Crawler Carl
An early broadcast star
The premiere introduces Lucia and her two rottweilers. Later footage shows her wearing silver armor, and Odette says one of the dogs mauled a producer during a previous appearance. Another broadcast shows four crawler-kill skulls above Lucia’s head.[2]

Book 2
Carl’s Doomsday Scenario
Race selection and an attempted feud
Lucia chooses Lajabless and a class that combines cleric, mage and warrior abilities. Reports from the Desperado Club describe a freezing spell, dogs getting loose and staff killing an elite. Lucia is banned from the club afterward.
The show tries to build a feud between Lucia and the other leading crawlers. She refuses the proposed arena spectacle but threatens to kill Carl and Donut.[10]
Choose Book 2 or later above to read this part of the history.
Book 3
The Dungeon Anarchist’s Cookbook
First place on the Iron Tangle
The recap places Lucia first at level thirty, with a million-gold bounty, and shows her brutally killing a janitor. Later footage shows her retreating from zombie-like enemies near five stairwells. Those exits are not necessarily open yet.[11]

Book 4
The Gate of the Feral Gods
Ifechi’s death and administrative violence
A recap shows Lucia and her dogs confronting Florin, Ifechi and another crawler at the stairs. Lucia’s protection reflects Florin’s attacks onto Ifechi, killing her. Lucia and the dogs remain unharmed. Throughout the encounter, she argues with someone the viewers cannot see.
Orren tells Carl that Lucia killed three administrators and admitted it, but the incident was judged non-sanctioned violence. Another report describes Gustavo killing crawlers and Lucia lashing out afterward. By the final ranking, she has dropped from first to second.[12]

Book 5
The Butcher’s Masquerade
Alucarda and Cici’s death
Lucia takes control of Alucarda and places transport traps in pubs and safe rooms. Carl is pulled into production before he can make sure Donut and Samantha are safe. While he is away, Lucia and her transformed dogs attack Donut.
Donut avoids the dogs’ first lunges and uses fire to create room to escape. She catches Cici’s head through a Hole and closes it, killing the dog. Taking the head with her, she uses invisibility to reach the guildhall and Wall of Fire to distract Gustavo. Lucia mourns Cici, blames unseen companions and threatens everyone nearby.
Carl and Donut are trapped between hunters outside and Lucia inside. They send Clockwork copies and a decoy through her transport trap, drawing her outside into the hunters’ position. She later teleports away. Watching the recap, Carl discovers that production inserted false footage of him relaxing while Donut was in danger.[13]
Florin finds children behind the threat
The replay shows Lucia asking for milk, mentioning former friends Bini and Abraham, arguing about points and speaking to an unseen assistant. Mordecai explains that youth assistants supervise children who were too young to enter the dungeon and live elsewhere. That makes Lucia’s references especially troubling.
Florin reaches the masquerade wanting revenge for Ifechi, but instead meets frightened children speaking through Lucia. One is Jill, a seven-year-old Dutch girl. He tells Carl that several real people are involved. Carl sees her voice and behavior change, though he still does not understand the role of the dog or Alexandro.[14]

Book 6
The Eye of the Bedlam Bride
Threats and a useful gift
The recap places Lucia ninth as a level-sixty Curupira Ranger. Near the end of the floor, Li Jun reports that she has killed many people and then asked for help. With encouragement from Florin, she donates seven Doggie Door upgrades that let allies reunite in Cuba. She still threatens Donut and Mongo on the next floor.[8]

Book 7
This Inevitable Ruin
Conscription and Diah’s testimony
Raul holds Lucia long enough for Carl to use Hell-Kissed Conscription. Once she is Under Orders, he tells her to drop her protections, summon Gustavo and answer honestly. A girl speaking through her identifies herself as Diah. She describes darkness, cold, sad whispers and a painful presence like a river running through the room.
Diah explains that Lucia fades when the dog moves away, allowing another child to take a turn seeing through her body. Carl abandons his plan to mark and kill her. Gustavo then appears, destroys Raul and nearly kills Mongo. Rend kills the dog, and Lucia saves Mongo by pouring healing potion over him.
Lucia’s posture changes, and a different speaker tells Carl that he should have killed her and the dog while they were still connected. The speaker says that killing her now would kill children on Earth and that the Eulogist has gained an ally. Carl does not learn exactly who is speaking or how the connection works.[15]
A life the administrators cannot safely remove
Zev says that letting Lucia enter was a mistake, but the system could not remove her after she rendered. She is connected to a wing of children who tried to enter the dungeon. Gustavo’s death was expected to break that connection; instead, the administrators now fear that her death will kill them. Carl demands that they keep her alive.
An escape net Lucia set earlier catches Donut during the final operation despite Carl’s orders to cancel her protections. Meanwhile, Florin pursues a deal that could let him protect the children at their facility. He adds Lucia to his party before descending.[16]

Book 8
A Parade of Horribles
The portal aftermath
After the arena crisis, Carl sees a small girl step out from behind Lucia’s legs. Lucia carries the injured Florin through a portal with the girl beside her. Carl does not learn who the child is or where they are going.[17]

Relationships
Cici and Gustavo 3
Cici and Gustavo 3 are with Lucia from her earliest appearances. Their aggression causes trouble both in the dungeon and during production visits.[18]
Donut kills Cici while escaping Lucia’s attack. Lucia is distraught, blaming people the others cannot see and threatening further violence. Gustavo survives the encounter.[7]
Diah tells Carl that the dog’s distance determines who can control Lucia’s body. When Gustavo dies, the link to the children does not break as the administrators expected.[19]
Florin
Carl and Donut
Lucia threatens to kill Carl and Donut while refusing the arena match the show wants to arrange. Their rivalry begins as something the production is eager to promote.[22]
